My Eyebrow Routine.

Hello my gorgeous readers... (if anyone reads this).
A few people say I draw my eyebrows on well, well I just whack them on half the days because I cant be bothered. But back story of it all is that I shave them all of :o, why? No idea, I like drawing them on higher and it gives me versatility in terms of shape and colour. Yes call me weird, call them shit. But in all honesty I don't care I love drawing them on, it's kind of my creative input into my face if i don't wear any make up.

Opinions on drawn on eyebrows... well, yes people hate them! Especially on males because they seem unnatural. But the reason why I think that is, is because we see so many badly drawn ones daily! I do not say mine are perfect but they hardly look like some of the peoples I see. I mean yes black eyebrows are fabulous, but I think you have to have A. The look (a very dark coloured hair, pale skin tone or depending on how tanned you are id say very tanned people suit black brows. and B. Drawn on correctly. Not that does not mean to thin lines, it means thickness, definition and shape.

My Steps :-

  1. I start off with a blank canvas, foundation or not.
  2. I then prime my eyelid or eyebrow section depending whether I am using eye make up or not.
  3. I then roughly map out where I want my eyebrow to be by drawing two little dots on each side of my eyebrows. This is so that I can draw a line up to the dots. I don't draw a third one, but i have seen this done before. The reason why I don't draw a third one is because I like to draw the tail of the eyebrow where it feels natural. I then replicate the tail on the opposite side.
  4. After drawing the main line in, I start thickening the eyebrow until it is a thickness that I am happy with. I then use a light shade of purple (light shade of the colour eyebrow I'm doing) I then set the pencil, and use an angled eye brush to continue changing the shape until I am pleased.

  5. The next thing i did was to add a mid tone shade, in this case I used M.A.C Hepcat, this allows me to create a gradient effect to my eyebrows. I placed Hepcat in the centre of my eyebrow and then blended it with the paler shade at the start (Illamasqua Can Can) and the tail, which has no colour on it yet...

  6. The final stages that I take is to use a darker colour and shade and blend it on the tail of the eyebrow. For this eyebrow I used M.A.C's Fig. 1 and Shadowy Lady.
  7. I then use a flat brush and concealer to go underneath the eyebrow to sharpen the line up. I then flick the concealer through the front with some of shadowy lady to create hair like flicks.

Even though I have no eyebrows this look can be adapted perfectly with people who have eyebrows, if you have eyebrows like 99% of people do then heres some simple steps :-
  1. Instead of drawing out the dots, follow your natural eyebrow shape. You can extend the line past your natural eyebrow tail. I really like long eyebrows, I think it looks quite sexy ;)
  2. Pick your pencil and start shading your eyebrow in. If you have dark coloured eyebrows this look may not work on you as the purple will not cover the dark hairs, however using a one that is a similar colour to your own hair will work fine.
  3. Get the an eyebrow brush and WORK that pencil into your brows!
  4. Start applying the eyeshadow to set the pencil, and then follow the same steps by getting darker on the tail and lighter on the start.
  5. Concealer can still be added underneath, however I don't recommend putting it over your hair as it may look a tiny bit odd!
THERE! WE NOW HAVE FIERCE EYEBROWS. Clap clap clap! You can use any colour and still follow this tutorial.
