Japonesque palette and all of it's Pazazz!

I have recently purchased a Japonesque palette from a lovely website that stocks Limecrime, Sugar Pill, OCC and so on called Cocktail Cosmetics, the price came to £21 with my pro discount, normal price is around £27 with shipping.

I definately love the the sleek design, however the plastic that it's made from feel flimsy, but its firm and doesnt seem to be going any where, it's weird to explain. Imagine if you dropped it i think it would break, well like any palette would break but I imagine it would be more prone to breaking than others. Anyways I don't think the price was bad for a 35 well palette that looks as professional as this one. I have seen videos where people have decanted lipsticks into an old watercolouring palette, but what would you prefer a make up artist to whip out?

Anyways, onto my little tips and tricks with help from the lovely Goss MUA, the key is not to apply any heat at all, because this delicate baby WILL MELT! No hair dryers, microwaves, lighters or candles!

As you can see the left hand's wells are much larger than the right hand side, I think this is because the palette can be used for other things such as concealer, cream foundations etc.

The left hand side took a full lipstick bullet, so what I did was I cut the lipstick in three sections and using an art palette knife, I carefully started to spread the lipstick. When one layer was spread I added another, and so on.

For the right, I would say maybe a mm less than half the bullet fills the well. I made this mistake on my first well. Poor Violetta :'( I had to scrape the excess off and then scrape it back onto my lipstick and put it into the fridge to set.

The next thing I did after filling the wells was placing it in the fridge so that the lipsticks set.

The reasons why I have wells empty is because I'm waiting to fill these with lipsticks that I am impressed with their texture, life and pigmentation. I have more lipsticks in my box but I'm unsure whether I'd use them on a client.

If you're interested, as I would be if I was reading this blog post, my lipsticks on the left hand are (L-R) -
