London Trip and IMATS Haul.

Hey guys, sorry I've been so off with blogging lately I've just been catching up with things like college work, which is finally finished! And I had a couple of job interviews to prepare and go to, so please try not to hate me too much :(

Well as you's all know that my friend and I went to London to have a lovely look around London, which included the MAC Pro Store, Illamasqua, Chanel, Dior, Michael Kors, Tiffanys, Christian Louboutin and Harvey Nichols! Then we went out on the night for a Thai meal, and a couple of glasses of champagne in a bar in London!

Then on the Saturday, we got up at 6 *cries* and got dressed to go to imats :D soooooo with out further due here is my little/ big (you decide) Haul :) I'll also try and tell you the prices of everything, because in the past when I've looked at imats no one ever lists how much everything is! (i'll categorise the products yay :D :P)

MAC PRO
We went to MAC Pro the day before because we knew that on the day of IMATS the Mac store would be packed! So we thought we'd kill that bird and buy our products the day before. I bought mainly for me, however I did buy a few goodies for my kit.

Clear Lipglass, Travel : Cleanse Off Oil, Studio Moisture Cream, Strobe Cream.
Skinfinish Light Plus, Studio Concealer NC20, Honey Love, Stud Eyebrow Pencil.

^ all of these were 35% off the retail price, I did buy these in the Store at Carnaby street, however IMATs had a massive MAC Pro Stall, where anyone could sign up for a MAC Pro Card (which I was miffed about, but we'll not go into that)

Illamasqua

Illamasqua Hydra Veil - £16.20
I didn't buy this at imats as they weren't exhibiting, however GUESS WHAT...
I met Alex Box! I had planned to say much more, but I just crumbled :') she even gave me a hug.

I don't look the best but setting aside that fact, JUST LOOK :O! :P She was so friendly as well! Not that I expected any different, just after meeting Vivienne Westwood (another massive inspiration of mine) I was left disappointed.

NYX Cosmetics
JEP £3.50 - Milk, Sparkle Nude. CB £4.50 - Diva, Natural. PB £4.50- Summer Peach, Taupe,
SLP £2.50 - Natural, Hot Red, Orange and Rose

L-R - JEP: Milk, Sparkle Nude
Powder Blusher - Diva Natural
Powder Blusher - Summer Peach, Taupe

Rose, Orange, Hot Red, Natural

I loved the NYX stand, it was the first one I went to. The only thing is, is that they didn't bring all of their online stock, which was a tiny bit disapointing as I planned on getting my friend Emily a lipgloss set. I then went back later on in the day to find out that most of the 'decent' glosses had sold out, and the queue was a mile long (literally). It took my friend Mark 40 minutes to stand in a queue that was shorted than NYX's.

NARS
I only bought one thing from NARS but it was such a bargain! I bought the blusher/ highlighter duo which came with 10g of product (2x5g). The NARS stand was a bit weird because they had their normal products to the left, and then the IMATS products on the right. The gift being the only discounted items :S.

Albatross & Orgasm
I am so happy I got albatross, we swatched it in Harvey Nichols and it looks absolutely beautiful both as a cheek highlight and a brow highlighter! To top it off it came with Orgasm, which I've obviously heard so much about, but i've never gotten round to trying it! This little gem was £12.50!

Left - Orgasm, Right - Albatross
As you can see Orgasm is a lovely peachy colour with golden reflects, and albatross is a pale white gold highlight. Looks beautiful!

Love- Make Up
Probably those who are make up artists have probably have heard of Love Make up, but if you haven't... Love make up is an online company who sell those products that are extremely hard to find in the UK, such as Limecrime, maqpro and sugarpill etc.

Le Maquillage Professionnel Foundation Palette £22.20
Limecrime Velveteen Lipgloss GAG. £9.20
I've always lusted after Limecrime's lipsticks, but ever since they released the velveteen lipgloss/ lipsticks (I'm unsure what to call them) I've been gagging for them! Especially after Karla Powell listed them as being one of her favourites.
Excuse this shot (I've lost my dslr :|)
The texture of this doesn't feel like a lipgloss at all, when I first put it on, it did feel very wet (if you get me) but the shine soon dries matte. But it isn't like a matte a lipstick would give you, it looks exactly like velvet! I'm in love, and at £9.20 I had to grab it!

Brushes

Crown and Royal Brushes £2-8, and I have a couple more in my luggage bag.
Brushes are like my children, so when I saw Crown brush I gagged! I then stopped to watch Karla Powell work her magic on her pop art make up look! I was very curious to see what it looked like compared to the photographs she posted, and I must say of what I saw it was excellent! Sadly, we had to leave at 3.30pm for the train home and didnt get to see her finish in person, but I must say the final look looked amazing. I feel sorry for the model however with the amount of people taking photographs :P (me including)... I also saw photographs of the snow queen look Karla created earlier on in the year which she demo'd on Sunday's imats. I think I would have preferred to have seen that make up demo, simply because I prefer the techniques and products Karla used.

Finished Image was taken from Karlas Twitter.

Other Images and Demos
As you may know imats has guest speakers from around the world, we sat through two guest speakers doing a demo on two different looks.

The first guest speaker was Terry Barber from MAC.

The make up look focused on Autumn/ Winter trends, Terry spoke about how he liked to mixed genders and create a piece that wouldn't be specifically determined as being 'human'. He did ramble, but he was interesting to listen to.

He started off with using face and body in white to create a milky base that looked very alien like. He then started with the statement brows using MACs brow pencils, he then went on to explain how statement brows are in this season.

Then he went onto mention the colour oxblood about 50 million times, creating a cream eyeshadow base using two colours of MAC Pro's paint sticks and using a oxblood pigment. He then went onto 'staining' the lip, as he said that it was the season of the stain, rather than painting on the lips.

Overall I was rather impressed with this Demo, and obviously it was a big thing to see Terry Barber for such a huge MAC fan.

Kabuki

Out of the two I found Kabuki more interesting as he spoke more about his life as a make up artist. I found it funny that when Patricia Fields rang him to be the make up artist on the set of Sex and The City, he said he would have done the job if it was for a funeral. He had a very unusual sense of humour and I found him to be quite a funny guy... set aside his personality.

He started off by blocking out the eyebrows of his model, he then started on a perfect and unhuman like base. The next thing he did was he contoured the sockets of the eyes using MACs chromagraphic pencil in Black Black and then blended upwards just below where the brows had been covered.

The look overall was amazing, and I think I recall him saying it was inspired by ancient egypt? Correct me if i'm wrong. But it did look amazing!
