Once again I admire the styling of Borsodi's photographs, especially with their use of colour, which will be my main
inspiration from these photographs for my own shoots and styling. I really like
how the stylist has used the three primary colours for the first photograph and then keeping it simple and not
going over the top by just using too many colours within the frame.
I love how Borsodi, has used a vibrant yellow
for the background of the photograph. I really like this in studio photographs
when the photographer uses a different colour other than white. I think this
can either work well or not, and I think it is up to the stylist of the shoot
to make it work well, as they need to find items that will either harmonize
with the colour or create a striking and interesting contrast that will make
the viewers want to look at, rather than turn their heads. The reason why I
like the coloured background is because the majority of the time, a fashion
photographer will either use a white or black background, depending on the
lighting style or a location. I understand that it is very hard to use another
coloured background for low key lighting other than black, as the coloured
background would simply not show.
I think the stylist that has styled this
photograph has placed the patent leather shoe as a tongue in cheek remark to
the theme of these photographs, as it comes across to me as if the woman had
forgotten to put on her shoe before she was stuck inside the wall. I don’t
think there is a specific subject or narrative to these photographs other than
to sell the items that have been placed within the themes. However it does
convey some form of surrealism, almost something that Dali would create.
