I obviously arrived early (9am, I was supposed to be there for 10 am :') ) I drove around Wynyard Park just to pass the time, which is a gorgeous place where famous footballers and business men live. At 10am I met Amanda Bell outside of the hall like we had arranged through email. It was the first time I had met Amanda, and I must say she is probably one of the nicest people you'll ever work with, especially in the make up industry where a lot of professionals can be seen as being brutal due to the pressure that comes along with the job. We waited for the other artist to arive, and she was just as nice as Amanda. The models then started to arrive and we were briefed. We watched Amanda at work before we started on our own models.
My first model had the most beautiful skin you'd ever get when working with a model, and lovely shaped eyes with alot of space to work with. I decided to keep it natural and go with a kind of champagney/ copper eye with a rosey cheek and lips to match. Through the make up application Amanda gave me some valuable tips that will come in handy. Unfortunately I forgot to take any photographs of this girl, but I will be getting some in a couple of weeks from the photographers.
My second model was very quirky, with a lovely little face and thick crimped black hair! Her brief was a cleopatra bride look, and I was able to go all out in this look. Amanda said keep it clean and fast as we only had 30 minutes to do the look in, the base was already on from the previous application and the model had no eyemake up on. I decided to take her matte red lip off (which was a bitch as it was stained into her lips, however I used blotting paper and make up remover). For her lips I opted to go with Honey Love from MAC with Electrum liquid metal from illamasqua blotted over the top to create a champagney gold nude lip. My inspiration came from Elizabeth Taylor in the film Cleopatra. I loved the really vibrant eye make up used. I thought it was a bit more acceptable to play with the eye make up this time around so I opted for these colours...
1. Base - Lime Crime Shadow Helper - applied with a 239
2. Lid - Goldilux from Sugarpill blended upwards.
3. I then cut the models crease with Posion Plum from Sugarpil and blended upwards with a fluffy brush.
4. I then added a transition colour and a V colour to add more depth.
5. I then took inspiration from egyptian like eyeliner, keeping it rough but neat. I was really happy with how it turned out!

Here's a few to links to the people who I worked with today and obviously Amanda who kindly allowed me to come along today :-
